Deliverance From Bad Habits
Prayer and Confession
Father, in the name of Jesus and according to Your Word, I hereby believe in my heart and say with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord of ________________’s life. I also confess that from this day forward ________________ is set free and delivered from the habit(s) of _________________ in the name of Jesus.
Satan, you and all your principalities, powers, and master spirits who rule the darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places are bound up and ______________ is loosed from you in the name of Jesus, as it is written in Matthew 18:18,19. No longer can you, Satan, harass or operate any of your unclean spirits or habits over _________________. He/she will not become the slave of anything that exalts itself over the Word of God or be brought under its power.
I hereby confess that ______________ is strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in his/her inner self by the Holy Spirit Who lives and dwells in his/her innermost being. ________________ is strong in the Lord. He/she is empowered through his/her union with the Lord. He/she draws strength from the Lord – that strength which His boundless might provides.
___________________ arms himself/herself with the full armor of God, that armor of a heavily armed soldier which God has supplied for him/her… the helmet of salvation… loins girded with truth… breastplate of righteousness… feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace… the shield of faith… and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
With God’s armor on, _______________ is able to stand up against all the strategies and deceits and fiery darts of Satan in the name of Jesus. As an act of his/her will and his/her faith, he/she receives complete and total freedom now. He/she is set free and delivered because he/she has called upon the name of the Lord, according to that which is written in His Word.
_______________ is able to discipline his/her body and subdue it. He/she is strong. He/she is free. He/she withstands temptation, because Jesus is the Lord of his/her life. Jesus is his/her High Priest, and with Jesus and the Father on his/her side, ________________ has the strength for all things.
Greater is He that is in ________________ than he that is in the world. Thank You, Lord. I praise You that __________________ is whole and redeemed from every evil work. With You and Your Word in _________________, he/she controls his/her body. It does not nor can it ever again control him/her in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah! Amen.
Scripture References
Romans 10:9, 10, 13
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Hebrews 4:14-16
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Matthew 18:18, 19
18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
Ephesians 6:10-17 NIV
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
1 Corinthians 6:12 Sexual Immorality. 12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.
Romans 8:4-9
4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4, 5
4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
1 John 4: 4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
